Customer Onboarding Role Available
Who are we?
At Link My Books we are on a mission to make accounting for sales, fees, VAT and taxes as easy and efficient as it can possibly be for businesses selling on Amazon.
We’ve developed a web based application that not only streamlines the bookkeeping process for businesses selling on Amazon but also ensures unrivalled accuracy.
We’ve been expanding rapidly over the last year and are now looking to take on some part time team members to join our customer onboarding and support team.
What will the role entail?
As part of our customer onboarding and support team you role will be to deal with inbound customer support emails and chat messages. The majority of our support is for new customers who require some assistance to get their account setup, or existing customers with a very specific need. From our experience if the first contact our customers have with us is a positive one, it results in a long term, happy customer – therefore your role will be paramount to the success of our company.
You will have access to our growing collection of help articles which cover all of the most frequently asked questions and will work hard to ensure that you cover all aspects of the customers questions or issue. However as each customers scenario’s are different, you’ll need to be able to fully understand the customers needs to ensure the correct answer is provided. Please note this is not a standard customer service role, you will need a great deal of independent thinking to provide the level of service we expect.
What sort of support will you deliver?
Customers can ask all sorts of questions, from technical issues to questions about making changes on their account and even questions about which tax rates to use.
Whilst we are not tax advisers or accountants, through experience our knowledge and experience of this subject is substantial and we offer practical advice which we request is verified by our clients accountants. Our aim would be to work with you to understand and develop the skills and knowledge to support our customers.
Given our software and the subject matter of our business, you will require some level of accountancy background, have a solid understanding about how UK VAT and a bonus but not essential would be to have some understanding of EU VAT. You will certainly learn on the job, however without some background on the subject it would be a steep learning curve.
What will your hours of work be?
LinkMyBooks customers are predominantly from the UK and thus business hours are 9am-5PM. However this is a flexible role and we would expect 2 hours a day, Mon-Fri. We currently provide support for 1 hour in the morning and 1 in the afternoon which generally allows us to stay on top, however for the right candidate these can be flexible.
Who would you work with?
Our team is small, you would be working predominantly with myself (the Managing Director, based in Sweden) and our Technical Director (based in Australia). Initially you would shadow myself as I answer all support questions and will help to create help documents to solidify your understanding. We are small, friendly and fun loving team – whilst we work hard we don’t take life too seriously and the ideal candidate would have similar ethics.
- Experience with either Xero or QuickBooks
- Accountancy/Bookkeeping Background
- Understanding of UK VAT (more than just knowing what it is)
- English as a first language
- Excellent problem solving skills (and we mean it :))
- Excellent and friendly communication skills.
- Willing to work hard
Not Essential but helpful
- Experience/Understanding with EU VAT
- Experience/Understanding US VAT
- Experience/Understanding of selling on Amazon

The quiz will take about 30 minutes, getting something wrong or not knowing the answer doesn’t mean you won’t progress to the next stage, completing the quiz is the first real test :).
